Over the past few years, "Generative AI" has become a term we hear every day, at work, on social media, and in the news. Many people wonder how it differs from traditional AI. In this article, Uncle Tee explains it in simple terms, no technical background needed.
Most traditional AI "classifies" or "predicts," such as filtering spam, recommending products you might like, or scanning your face to unlock your phone. Generative AI "creates" something new, such as writing articles, composing songs, drawing pictures, or making videos from the instructions you type.
Imagine traditional AI as a clerk sorting documents, while Generative AI is a writer and designer ready to draft work for you anytime.
Generative AI learns from enormous amounts of data, such as text, images, and audio, until it understands the patterns of language and images. When you type an instruction, called a prompt, the system predicts what the most suitable result should be and gradually generates it piece by piece.
For text, popular tools in Thailand are ChatGPT and Gemini. For image design, there's Canva, which is very easy for beginners. For music, try starting with Suno. To find out which tool suits which task, read Comparing AI Tools for Beginners.
The heart of using Generative AI is giving clear instructions. The more clearly you state the context, goal, and output format, the better the result. Start with small tasks you do every day, such as drafting customer replies, then expand to more complex work. If you don't know what to type, try LoongTeeAi's Free Prompts as a starting point.
Open any AI tool and try these three prompts in order. First: "Here's my job: [profession]. Tell me 5 tasks AI can help with." Second: "Pick the task that saves the most time and teach me step by step." Third: "Write a sample of the result for me." That's all it takes to see clearly where AI can help in your life.
No. If you can type in a chat, you can use Generative AI, and most tools accept instructions in Thai.
Most tools have free plans to get started. Consider a paid plan once you use it more heavily.
AI can replace some repetitive tasks, but people who know how to use AI will get more done and become more valuable. Starting to learn today is the best investment you can make.
Generative AI is no longer something distant. It's an assistant that helps us work faster and be more creative. The important thing is to dare to try and learn through trial and error, and you'll find that many tasks that used to take hours can be done in minutes.
